We are looking for a commercially sharp and technically competent Technical Sales Representative who can operate across engineering, production, and executive-level customer discussions
Your main duties will include but are not limited to the following:
· Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers through market research, industry networking, customer referrals, trade events, and targeted business development activities.
· Continuously develop and maintain a strong understanding of Vacupack's products, manufacturing capabilities, materials, and technologies, while monitoring competitor offerings, industry trends, and market conditions.
· Conduct regular visits with existing and prospective customers to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships, and provide technical packaging solutions that align with customer requirements.
· Analyse customer operations, packaging requirements, and commercial objectives to recommend suitable thermoformed and in-mould labelled packaging solutions.
· Monitor customer activity, changing market requirements, and competitor developments, providing regular feedback and strategic recommendations to management.
· Prepare and present quotations, proposals, pricing structures, and supply agreements while negotiating commercial terms that support business profitability and customer value.
· Coordinate the successful implementation of customer projects, including product trials, onboarding, production scheduling, supply chain requirements, and commercial launches.
· Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, project activities, and sales opportunities through CRM and ERP systems.
· Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, market intelligence updates, and account performance reviews for management.
· Build long-term customer relationships through proactive communication, ongoing support, and timely resolution of technical, operational, and commercial issues.
· Collaborate with Production, Quality, Technical, Tooling, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer requirements are effectively communicated and delivered.
· Manage project timelines and customer expectations throughout the product development and commercialisation process.
· Maintain accurate records of business development activities, customer visits, sales performance, and approved business expenses in accordance with company procedures
To be successful in this role you will have to:
· Strong communication skills with ability to challenge assumptions and push back on technically unfeasible customer requirements.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and work collaboratively across internal and external teams.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Australia and New Zealand.
- High attention to detail in documentation, pricing structures, and project tracking.
- Strong commercial acumen with evidence of protecting or improving gross margin in competitive environments.
Qualification
· Bachelor’s degree or above
Experience Required
· Minimum 1 year of experience in Similar Position
- CRM systems (Insightly preferred), ERP systems (M1 desirable), and analytical tools (Power BI or equivalent).
