Location – Bathurst Correctional Centre
Employment type – Ongoing, Full Time, 5 days per week
Salary – Overseer level, $97,285 plus superannuation, incidental allowance and leave loading
We're looking for experienced tradespeople who are ready to take the next step in their career and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others.
Your role
This hands-on role combines workshop management with coaching, ensuring safe, high-quality operations while fostering teamwork, accountability and respect. You'll also deliver workplace training, support nationally recognised traineeships and contribute to work readiness programs that equip individuals with valuable skills for life beyond custody.
You will supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Service/Business Unit objectives.
Oversee the activities of the team to ensure productivity efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved whilst ensuring all Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements and customer service needs are met.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum Certificate III level qualifications in one of the following: Commercial Cooking, Horticulture, Supply Chain Operations, Textiles, Cleaning Operations, Laundry Operations or related trade
A Certificate III Correctional Practice or the capacity to complete this qualification within specified CSNSW timeframes
Extensive post-trade industry experience
The ability to lead, coach and mentor others while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Confidence to work independently, make sound decisions and manage competing priorities
A current NSW Driver Licence and the willingness to drive as part of your duties
Willingness to work across trades as required

A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months. Priority will be given to filling the position in Bathurst Correctional Centre.
