Charcoal Loco is a modern halal charcoal grill restaurant in Mount Lawley, specialising in premium steaks, ribs, grilled chicken, burgers, and sharing platters. We are focused on delivering high-quality food, great customer experiences, and building a strong restaurant brand in Perth.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef / Grill Chef to join our kitchen team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality grilled and charcoal dishes while maintaining consistency, speed, and presentation in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook premium charcoal-grilled meats and steaks
- Cook ribs, chicken, burgers, and side dishes
- Ensure food is consistently high quality and well presented
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards at all times
- Assist with prep, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
- Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services
- Follow recipes and contribute to menu development
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef or Grill Chef
- Experience with steaks, BBQ, or grill cooking preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Reliable, punctual, and team-focused attitude
- Passion for high-quality food and presentation
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Desirable Skills
- Experience in charcoal grilling or steakhouse environments
- Knowledge of halal food preparation (advantage)
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Australian working rights
