About the role
A rare opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join our Pro Bono team on a full-time basis in Melbourne. This role would suit lawyers with 3-6 years’ post-admission experience and strong knowledge of employment law.
Working closely with our Pro Bono Partner, this role will see you providing legal advice across a wide variety of interesting pro bono matters, and will play a vital role in expanding access to justice for the communities in which we work and live. In addition to providing legal services, you will play a part in developing relationships with the community and not-for-profit sector to support the firm in achieving its pro bono targets.
About you
To be eligible for this role, you must be an admitted lawyer with at least three years’ PAE including experience in employment law. Ideally, you will have had some experience working in the Community Legal, Pro Bono or Not-for-Profit sector, and have a genuine passion for providing Pro Bono legal services. In addition to your technical skills and your commitment to client care, some of the other skills we are looking for include:
- The ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise, set and meet deadlines under pressure
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail
