About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team and assist with the day-to-day financial administration of the business.
The successful applicant will be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail, and be proficient in Xero. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting management with the ongoing financial administration of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
- Process and reconcile bank transactions
- Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Enter and process supplier invoices and bills
- Monitor outstanding customer accounts and follow up overdue payments
- Allocate customer payments and supplier payments correctly
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with payroll processing where required
- Assist with preparation of BAS and GST information
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of business expenses
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting
- Prepare basic financial reports for management
- Liaise with accountants, suppliers and customers where required
- Maintain organised electronic and physical financial records
- Identify and resolve discrepancies within accounts
- Assist management with general financial and administrative duties as required
Essential Requirements
The successful applicant must have:
- Strong demonstrated experience using Xero
- Previous bookkeeping or accounts experience
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Strong bank reconciliation skills
- Good understanding of GST and Australian bookkeeping practices
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence identifying and resolving account discrepancies
- Competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
Highly Regarded
- Experience with Xero
- Previous experience working within a small-to-medium business
- Experience with payroll and superannuation processing
- Experience assisting with BAS preparation
- Experience working within the construction, manufacturing, trade or building supply industries
- Experience managing multiple business entities or accounts
About You
You are organised, dependable and comfortable taking ownership of the bookkeeping function. You have a strong eye for detail and understand the importance of keeping accounts accurate and up to date.
You are confident using Xero without requiring extensive training, can investigate discrepancies when something doesn't balance, and are comfortable communicating with management, suppliers, customers and external accountants when required.
