Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in a 24/7 Supported Independent Living home. Experience working with participants who have Behaviours of Concern and/or a history of drug and alcohol misuse is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and committed to delivering safe, respectful, and person-centred support while promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily routines and promote independence and confidence
- Building trusting relationships through active listening and empathy
- Maintain accurate and confidential participant records
- Helping with domestic duties like cooking, cleaning, and shopping
- Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and the care team
- Respond to participant's unique needs and challenges with empathy and patience
Qualifications:
- Cert III/IV in Disability or equivalent.
- NDIS Screening Check
- NDIS Induction Module
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Previous experience in a support worker role or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on others' lives.
- Ability to adapt to various participant needs and preferences.
- First Aid and CPR
