About the role
We have a rare opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel with expertise in Estate Planning to join our high performing, yet friendly Private Clients team. This is a part-time role with a minimum of 3 days per week, offering the opportunity for career progression within a supportive and nurturing environment.
While this role is based in our Sydney CBD office, at Bartier Perry we all have the opportunity to work flexibly and remotely. Bartier Perry offers structured career progression for those who want it, within a warm, friendly and supportive environment.
About the team
Our firm has one of the most highly regarded Private Client practices in Sydney, with our partners consistently identified as leading or recommended practitioners in various legal directories. The team boasts an enviable list of clients who seek assistance with legal matters involving business succession, deceased estates, disputed estates, estate planning, family law, taxation, superannuation, and investment structuring.
In this role, your work will focus primarily on complex estate planning, business succession and deceased estates. However, depending on experience, you may also be involved in planning litigation matters from time to time.
You will deal directly with clients whose needs may vary, spanning across their individual, family and business needs.
As a senior member of the team, you will manage matters with significant autonomy, and assist with the mentoring and supervision of more junior lawyers within the team. You will also be expected to engage in the team’s business development program. This will involve attending and presenting at client facing events, and drafting bulletins and client updates.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- 5+ years of post-admission experience in estate planning
- Experience in estate litigation, tax advice, probate and estate administration, or other related areas is also desirable
- A passion for client service and client outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong research, analytical and drafting skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and efficiently manage workflow.
