About the Role
Armani Restaurant is seeking passionate and experienced Chef's to join our growing kitchen team. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of food preparation, particularly meat handling and cookery, and who is eager to further develop their skills in authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.
This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively with a team, and takes pride in producing high quality dishes with consistency and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to the highest quality standards.
- Assist with the preparation and service of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of meat preparation, portioning, marinating, grilling and cooking techniques.
- Maintain consistency in food presentation and portion control.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with stock rotation, stock control and minimisation of food wastage.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during service periods.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workstation.
- Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and specials.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff where required.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Experience handling and cooking various cuts of meat.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Desirable
- Experience with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Lebanese, Syrian or Turkish cuisine.
- Experience working with charcoal grills, shawarma equipment or open flame cooking.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
