We are currently looking for a talented and reliable Cook Assistant to join our growing team.
About the Role
This is a part time position, with the option of full time for the right candidate. The role is primarily focused on daytime kitchen operations and catering preparation.
You will work closely with our kitchen team to prepare food for our shop and catering events, helping ensure everything is organised, prepared and ready to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing food for shop service and catering events
- Assisting with catering kitchen preparation during the day
- Following recipes and maintaining consistent food quality
- Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
- Stock rotation and inventory control
- Assisting with stock management and ordering
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented to a high standard
- Maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas
- Working collaboratively with the team to deliver great food and service
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a cook or in a commercial kitchen
- Good food preparation and basic cooking skills
- The ability to work efficiently as part of a small team
- Strong kitchen organisation and time management skills
- Good attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for preparing quality food
- Food safety knowledge and experience is an advantage
Competitive salary package negotiated based on experience and availability.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
