We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer experienced in commissioning HVAC, BMCS, and other mechanical systems (hydraulic services, fire protection, vertical transportation and tunnel ventilation systems) to join our team on the Sydney SSTOM Project.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineering professional to play a key role in the testing, verification, and commissioning of complex mechanical systems across a major infrastructure project.
Reporting to the Commissioning Lead - Mechanical Systems, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure mechanical systems are successfully tested, commissioned and handed over.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the testing, verification and commissioning of mechanical systems, including; HVAC, BMCS, hydraulic services, fire protection, vertical transportation and tunnel ventilation systems.
- Lead and coordinate the functional and performance testing of the Building Management Control Systems of HVAC assets in conjunction with subcontractors, vendors.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures and testing schedules in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely and on schedule.
- Identify, troubleshoot and manage the resolution of commissioning issues, defects, non-conformances and punch list items.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, test reports and records, ensuring systems meet design specifications, relevant standards and project requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3–5+ years experience in commissioning of mechanical systems or BMCS or a related field.
- Strong experience and technical knowledge across HVAC, BMCS, hydraulic services and fire protection systems.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation and operation.
- Familiarity with commissioning software, testing equipment and testing procedures.
