Nikan Restaurant is seeking an experienced Senior Chef to support a significant expansion of the business.
Nikan Restaurant is a well-known Persian restaurant in Sydney, recognised for delivering authentic Iranian cuisine and quality hospitality services. The restaurant serves a broad customer base and is a respected venue within the local community.
Due to expansion into additional floors, including function and event facilities, breakfast buffet services, lunch and dinner buffets, and liquor bar operations, we are looking for a skilled culinary professional who can contribute to both traditional Persian cuisine and broader international food offerings.
Main Duties
- Prepare, cook, and oversee authentic Persian cuisine
- Manage food production for buffet services and events
- Assist in the development of breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate kitchen workflow
- Maintain food quality and presentation standards
- Manage inventory and stock rotation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Support catering and function operations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a Chef
- Demonstrated experience gained through both Persian restaurant and Western/international cuisine settings
- Proven ability to lead kitchen teams
- Experience with buffet service, events, catering, or large-scale food preparation highly regarded
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Understanding of food safety and kitchen management practices
