Youngster.co is a social enterprise with a purpose — we believe in the power of human connection to bridge generational gaps. Our program brings young people and seniors together in shopping centres, libraries, and community spaces for meaningful intergenerational sessions using technology as a tool.
The Role
We're looking for warm, outgoing, and socially confident young people (18+) who genuinely enjoy spending time with other people or with older generations. You don't need to be a tech wizard, you just need to be a great conversationalist who can break things down simply and make someone's day a little brighter.
Location
This role is for our program at Wagga Wagga Marketplace.
What You'll Do
- Sit alongside seniors and help them with everyday tech questions from smartphones, tablets, video calls, social media, and more
- Build genuine rapport and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where seniors feel comfortable and confident
- Explain things in simple, friendly language — no tech jargon or complex tech concepts
- Share ideas and feedback to help us keep improving our sessions
Work Arrangement & Hours
On site at Wagga Wagga Marketplace
2 hours/ week (Wednesdays from 10:00AM - 12:00NN)
Who We're Looking For
This role is first and foremost for people who are:
- Naturally warm, social, and patient
- Genuinely interested in older people's stories, experiences, and lives
- Knowledgeable with everyday tech (smartphones, tablets, basic computers) and familiar with Android or iOS systems
- Comfortable communicating with other people
Requirements
- Aged 18 or over
- Valid National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Located within 15–20 km of Wagga Wagga Marketplace
- Commitment to Youngster.co's mission of intergenerational connection
