We are looking for a reliable, motivated and creative Chef, Cook or experienced Commis Chef to take charge of our kitchen operations and become an important part of our growing artisan bakery team.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) working Wednesday to Sunday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. No split shifts, no late nights, and no evening work.
About the Role
You will be responsible for preparing and producing our fresh daily food offering, including:
Fresh sandwiches and rolls
Gourmet toasts and breakfast items
Fresh salads
Almond croissants and other bakery products
Pie fillings and sausage roll mixes
Daily food preparation using premium ingredients
Supporting the development of new menu items
Everything we produce is made fresh daily using quality ingredients and freshly baked bread from our bakery team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day kitchen operation
Manage stock rotation and food quality standards
Place orders for vegetables, meats and kitchen supplies
Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards
Coordinate and support a small kitchen team
Ensure consistency and efficiency during service
Contribute creative ideas for new salads, sandwiches, toasts and seasonal specials
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience as a Chef, Cook or Commis Chef
Is confident working independently and taking responsibility
Is organised, reliable and punctual
Can consistently start work at 6:00am
Has strong food preparation and kitchen management skills
Enjoys working with fresh ingredients and artisan products
Brings creativity and enthusiasm to menu development
Has excellent attention to detail and pride in their work
This role would suit an ambitious young chef looking for more responsibility and the opportunity to run a small kitchen while developing their own ideas and creations.
