About the Team
The Eating Disorders Program (EDP) is a specialist mental health clinical service and part of the child and youth mental health services (CYMHS) within Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQ HHS).
The Eating Disorders Program (EDP) takes a family and child-centred approach in working with children and adolescents with a primary eating disorder diagnosis. The EDP provides evidence-based clinical services for children, young people up to 18 years of age, and their families in the greater Brisbane area and some services across Queensland using telehealth. The range of clinical services include face-to- face and telehealth assessment and treatment; case-based consultation and liaison; online psychoeducation for parents and carers; training and supervision for mental health and other clinicians.
The Eating Disorders Program consists of two teams: Community Team and Eating Disorders Day Program Team. The EDP Community team is in Upper Mount Gravatt. The EDP Day Program is based at Chermside. As a multi-site program, staff are required to work flexibility across sites to support workflow and ensure consumers have accessible and sustainable services.
