About the Role
Power Road Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our busy GP clinic in Doveton, VIC 3177.
This is a casual position with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate. The position offers flexibility while providing essential nursing support within our established and growing general practice.
As a valued member of our clinical team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, supporting our doctors with clinical services, and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the practice.

What you'll be doing
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, height, weight and BMI.
- Assist GPs and other practitioners with clinical procedures, examinations and treatments as required.
- Administer medications, immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with clinical protocols, legislation and appropriate delegation.
- Prepare and maintain treatment and consultation rooms, ensuring high standards of infection prevention and control are consistently maintained.
- Monitor clinical supplies and equipment, and ensure stock levels, ordering and inventory management .
- Conduct and assist with eligible Health Assessments, Chronic Disease Management/EPC services, HMRs and other relevant preventive health activities, including appropriate patient recalls and follow-up.
- Provide wound care, dressings and ongoing wound management .
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation .
- Provide patients with appropriate health education, preventive health information and self-management support.
- Support the delivery of preventive healthcare, chronic disease management and health promotion initiatives within the practice.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organised and welcoming clinical environment.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, practice staff and the broader multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote effective communication and continuity of patient care.
- Ensure all nursing activities are undertaken in accordance with professional standards, clinical guidelines, practice policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) who meets the following requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Valid Australian citizenship, permanent residency or appropriate working rights/visa.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Evidence of appropriate immunisation against vaccine-preventable diseases, including COVID-19, in accordance with current clinical and workplace requirements.
- Previous experience in general practice, primary care or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical knowledge and nursing skills, with demonstrated competency in patient assessment and clinical interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy GP environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality, privacy requirements and professional standards.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach, working effectively with GPs, nurses, reception staff and other healthcare professionals.
- A professional, compassionate and reliable manner, with a strong commitment to patient-centred care.
- Flexibility and willingness to work casual rostered shifts, with the potential to transition to a permanent position for the right candidate.
Pay: $32.00 – $45.00 per hour
