The Role:
As our Telecommunications Technician you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications equipment, including cabling, modems, routers, antennas, and NBN systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing, diagnostics, and fault-finding on voice, data, and internet services to ensure service quality and performance.
- Perform on-site service calls to residential and commercial clients for new installations, upgrades, or troubleshooting.
- Terminate and test copper and fibre optic cables using industry-standard tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, network schematics, and customer service orders.
- Liaise with clients to identify service needs, explain technical issues, and provide professional support.
- Complete documentation, including job sheets, installation records, and fault reports.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards, telecommunications regulations, and client specifications.
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party service providers to resolve escalated technical issues.
- Stay updated with emerging telecommunications technologies and industry best practices.
