Your new role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Researcher to lead and support an innovative research project within Logan Hospital's Kidney Service. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll help co-design a healthy eating and exercise program for Pasifika and Maori people living with chronic kidney disease, ensuring research translates into meaningful improvements in patient care. In this role you will:
Lead and coordinate nursing research activities within the Kidney Service.
Facilitate participant recruitment, consent and education throughout the study.
Conduct Talanoa discussions and workshops with research participants.
Collect, manage and assist in analysing qualitative research data.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinicians, researchers and community stakeholders.
Contribute to steering committee meetings and the co-design of culturally responsive health initiatives.
About you:
You're a passionate Registered Nurse with experience in research and a genuine commitment to improving health outcomes through evidence-based practice. You enjoy collaborating with diverse teams, building meaningful relationships with participants, and delivering research that creates lasting change.
Knowledge of research governance, ethics and informed consent processes.
Demonstrated experience coordinating or participating in clinical research.
Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in qualitative research methodologies and data analysis (highly regarded).
Understanding of chronic kidney disease and/or nutrition-related health research (highly regarded).

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
