Galactic Donuts is a fun, bold and creative donut brand with a big personality. We are looking for a Rockhampton-based content creator to help capture regular social media content for our Rockhampton store.
This role would suit someone who enjoys filming reels, taking photos, creating fun social content and capturing the energy of a local store.
About the role
We are looking for a Rockhampton Social Media Content Creator to visit our Rockhampton store and capture content for our social media channels.
This is a contractor role focused on content creation only. The main responsibility will be to film and edit short-form reels, take photos of the store, products, staff, customers where appropriate, and any local brand activations or promotions.
You will work with the Marketing Coordinator, who will provide brand direction, content guidance and campaign information.
Monthly content requirements
The role will generally include creating:
- 3 edited reels per month
- 3 static social media posts per month
- Additional raw photo or video content where suitable
- Content from in-store activity, products, promotions or local brand activations
Content may include donuts, drinks, staff moments, behind-the-scenes footage, customers, store atmosphere, campaign content, local events or activations connected to Galactic Donuts.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the Rockhampton Galactic Donuts store to capture content
- Film short-form video content for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- Edit reels in line with current social media trends and brand direction
- Capture high-quality photos suitable for static social media posts
- Capture content of any in-store promotions or local brand activations
- Send edited content and raw files to the Marketing Coordinator
- Follow the Galactic Donuts brand style, tone and content direction
- Communicate clearly around content visits, deadlines and deliverables
About you
You do not need to be a full marketing expert. We are looking for someone who knows how to create fun, engaging social media content and is comfortable capturing content in a retail or food environment.
You would be a great fit if you are:
- Based in Rockhampton
- Confident filming reels and taking social media photos
- Comfortable editing short-form video content
- Creative and aware of social media trends
- Reliable, organised and easy to communicate with
- Comfortable visiting the store to capture content
- Able to work independently with clear direction
- Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and short-form content
Requirements
- Must be based in Rockhampton
- Must have your own phone or camera suitable for filming content
- Must be able to edit reels and provide ready-to-use content
- Must be available to visit the Rockhampton store as needed
- Previous content creation, social media, photography, videography or reel editing experience is preferred
- ABN preferred, or willingness to work as a contractor
Nice to have
- Experience creating content for food, hospitality, retail or lifestyle brands
- Basic editing skills using CapCut, Canva, Instagram, TikTok or similar tools
- Confidence directing simple shots with staff, products or store activity
- An eye for fun, colourful and engaging content
Working arrangement
This is a flexible contractor role. Content visits will be arranged based on store activity, campaigns and content needs.
Some work will be completed in-store, while editing and file delivery can be completed remotely.
