As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide individualised, person-centred support to people with disabilities in accordance with their support plans, goals, and preferences.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting
- Supporting daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks and community access
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and the use of assistive equipment
- Administering medication in accordance with training and organisational procedures
- Supporting mealtime management and specialised dietary requirements where required
- Supporting participants to attend health and medical appointments
- Providing High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (where appropriately trained)
- Following health-related instructions provided by medical professionals
- Implementing Behaviour Support Plans
- Recording and reporting behaviours of concern
- Following protocols relating to restrictive practices
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident reports
- Following participant risk assessments and support plans
- Adhering to organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and workplace health and safety obligations
- Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals
- Encouraging independence, skill development and community participation
- Promoting inclusion and meaningful engagement within the community

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with diverse disabilities
- Willingness to travel between participant locations
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability, or a related qualification (or currently studying)
- Experience supporting people with disabilities
- Experience working with complex support needs or behaviours of concern, implementing strategies outlined in Behaviour Support Plans.
- Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards
- Experience with digital documentation systems
