We are seeking a highly motivated Small Engine Mechanic/Technical Support Specialist to deliver end-to-end support across our Rato Greenworks brands.
This role is supporting our dealer network, customers and internal teams with diagnosis & technical advice. You will play a critical role in ensuring products performance, dealer capability and customer satisfaction across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Fault Diagnosis & Technical advice.
- Provide phone and email support across our Rato & Greenworks product range
- Diagnose faults and deliver practical repair solutions
- Repair carburetors, ignition systems and fuel systems
- Using Mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment
- Guide dealers, repair agents, and end users through troubleshooting processes
- Escalate recurring or critical issues to manufacturers with structured feedback
- Maintaining workshop records and job sheets
- Conducting safety inspections before delivery
- Maintain tests and repair engines of chainsaws, lawnmowers, garden tractors and other equipment with small engines
Warranty & Claims Management
- Assess and approve warranty labor, claims and ensure compliance
- Identify trends and report on common product failure points
Dealer & Training Support
- Deliver technical training to dealers and service partners
- Act as the technical subject matter expert across the product range
About You
You are a technically strong, process-driven individual who can confidently bridge the gap between product issues and practical solutions.
Core Skills & Experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic capability
- Ability to clearly communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
- High attention to detail, particularly in warranty and parts processes
- Strong stakeholder communication (dealers, customers, internal teams)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Certificate III (or higher) in:
- Outdoor Power Equipment Technology
- Automotive / Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Experience repairing small engines including, Lawn Mowers, Chainsaws, Brush Cutters, Generators & Ride on Turf Equipment
Advantageous (not essential):
- Certificate II/III in Electrotechnology
- Experience with lithium-ion battery systems, BMS, and low-voltage DC systems

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
