About Us
Welcome to Barry Nilsson. For 60 years, we’ve been shaping a better experience for our clients and our people. What sets our firm apart is not just what we do, but who we are: a team known for its collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence, inclusion, and innovation. As an award-winning national law firm, we’ve built a culture that empowers you to not only grow your career, but be your authentic self while you do it.
The Clerkship Program
We're offering a number of penultimate year law students the opportunity to join our Brisbane Vacation Clerkship Program. Our program will be held over 3 intakes during the summer and winter university breaks in 2026/27. During this time, clerks will be provided with a unique insight into our firm, the diverse range of work we undertake and most importantly, our distinctive culture. Be welcomed into an inclusive and friendly team, working with supportive colleagues who are invested in your individual growth and learning.
Our Brisbane Clerks will undertake a four-week clerkship, with a choice of working within either our Family Law team or Insurance & Health teams. Both groups are recognised throughout the industry for producing high quality advice and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Our clerkship program is one of the pathways to gaining a Graduate position at the firm and we will be on the lookout for standout candidates who would be available to commence a Graduate role with the firm in January 2028.
