About the Role
We are seeking experienced and motivated Theatre and Recovery Nurses to join our team on a casual basis in Perth. This role offers flexibility while providing high-quality perioperative and post-anaesthetic care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures.
The successful candidates will work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care throughout the perioperative journey.
Key Responsibilities
Theatre Nurse
- Prepare operating theatres, equipment, and surgical instruments before procedures.
- Assist surgeons and theatre teams during surgical procedures.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control standards.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changing clinical conditions.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and surgical records.
- Participate in theatre stock management and equipment maintenance.
Recovery Nurse
- Provide post-anaesthetic care to patients recovering from surgery.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall recovery status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Identify and respond promptly to complications or deteriorating conditions.
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care requirements.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and handovers.
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Minimum 3 years' recent experience in Theatre Nursing and/or Recovery Nursing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative and recovery nursing practices.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Current CPR certification (mandatory).
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is desirable.

Pay: $64.00 – $112.00 per hour
