Drive the data behind every train on time!
Lead the assurance that keeps Sydney's rail network reliable
Transport for NSW is delivering the largest infrastructure program Australia has ever seen. This role leads the performance and assurance function that underpins the Standard Working Timetable (SWTT), turning operational performance data into the insights that keep customers moving safely and reliably.
In this role you'll:
Lead a team analysing rail timetables and service operations, ensuring inputs into the SWTT Lifecycle are accurate and validated
Deliver timetable assurance as per the Standard Working Timetable Safety Assurance Framework
Translate metrics such as On Time Running (OTR), Lost Customer Minutes (LCM), Balanced Scorecard and Standard Working Timetable/Daily Working Timetable (SWTT/DWTT) deviations, into evidence-based insights that drive decision making
Build trusted relationships across internal teams, rail operators and external stakeholders to resolve complex timetable issues and shape service planning improvements
Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team while championing collaboration and continuous improvement.
This is a permanent Transport Senior Service Manager (TSSM) role. Please see the role description and Information Pack for more information.
About you:
You're an experienced people leader with a strong track record in data analysis and assurance, ideally within rail or a complex operational environment.
You bring sound judgement in interpreting performance data and translating it into practical recommendations, alongside the credibility to engage senior stakeholders across agencies.
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent industry experience are essential, as is comfort operating with autonomy while knowing when to escalate complex, high-impact decisions.
