AAGM is looking for a reliable and trustworthy gardener to join the business, with the potential to step into a Leading Hand role when required.
This role will begin with a casual trial period. Successful applicants may then be offered permanent employment, either part time or full time, depending on business needs, performance and suitability.
About the role
This is a hands on gardening and grounds maintenance role across Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounding areas.
When the business owner is present, you will be working under direction and following the systems, standards and job instructions already in place.
When the business owner is away, the right person may be required to step up and help keep regular jobs running smoothly.
This does not mean taking over the business. It means being trusted to follow instructions, complete work to a high standard, communicate clearly, respect equipment and look after clients properly.
I am an easy going and fair business owner, but this role comes with real responsibility. I need someone who is honest, reliable and willing to treat the business, clients, equipment and vehicles with respect.
Important availability
Applicants must be available in October 2026.
Applicants must also be available during March and April 2027 while the business owner is overseas.
This availability is very important, as the successful applicant may be required to assist with regular maintenance work using company equipment, company vehicle, company fuel and company systems.

Requirements
Previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience
Current drivers licence
Ability to safely use mowing, hedging and gardening equipment
Good communication skills
Strong work ethic

References from previous work
