As a result of continuous national growth, LAI Group is seeking an Engineering Technologist to join our team at our head office in Adelaide (Ferryden Park) within our Switchboard Electrical Design department. Schedule
Full-time
A 38-hour week (Monday – Friday + reasonable overtime).
The Position
Engineering Technologist shall provide LAI with new and innovative technology to better improve the engineering on LAI products. The appropriate candidate will be reporting to the Switchboard Design Manager where they will be able to apply and test the new and innovative technology to improve process efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide suggestions on improve current technology
- Research and develop a plan to implement to technology
- Coordinate and facilitate tests on current and new technology to identify weaknesses and strengths
- Providing electric design support to the electrical workshop manager for installation activities.
- Prepare design and detailing of drawings where such technology can be installed and maintained
- Work with the design and operations team to ensure the current and new technology successfully achieves workplace efficiencies.
Desired Competencies
- A strong technical engineering.
- Has an Engineering degree or similar
- Expert skills using AutoCAD in a 2D and 3D environment. SolidWorks experience is advantageous.
- Experience in Low and medium voltage switchboard design and construction
- Ability to interpret and prepare single line diagrams and schematics.
