The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Social Workers (Mental Health - Inpatient Units) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Provide an efficient and responsive mental health Social Work service within identified models of care and in accordance with professional, ethical and National Mental Health standards
Utilise knowledge of Social Work theories and frameworks in understanding the impact of the environment and culture on the development of mental illness
Undertake routine psychosocial assessments to support diagnosis, treatment, education and case management across a broad spectrum of clinical presentations
Apply professional judgement to facilitate effective clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence across multiple clinical areas.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
A tertiary degree in Social Work
Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Driver Licence
Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Base salary ranging from $80,015 - $116,189 per annum
About Us
Pandanus and Melaleuca are 24 bed acute adult inpatient units that provide individualized, comprehensive, and focused care to adults, presenting with acute symptoms of their mental health conditions. The units are based at Gold Coast University Hospital. The service has strong partnerships with the community, government, and non-government organisations.
Each unit comprises of 24 beds that are divided into 2 sections. A psychiatric intensive care unit comprising of 6 beds and a low dependency acute "open" unit comprising of 18 beds. The units are designed to promote safety and well-being.
