We're excited to offer a newly created Practice Administrator opportunity within our Melbourne General Liability team.
Created to support a growing and busy insurance litigation practice, this role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years' experience in legal administration or legal support who is looking to further develop their career within a leading law firm. You'll work closely alongside an experienced Senior Administrator, gaining hands-on exposure to matter management, billing, client reporting and litigation support while building a strong foundation across insurance law and legal operations.

What you'll do:
- Work closely with and support a Senior Administrator across a busy General Liability practice.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining electronic matter files.
- Download, save and organise correspondence and legal documents across multiple matters.
- Update matter information and ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
- Support billing administration, matter maintenance and client reporting activities.
- Assist with diary management, court dates and general team administration.
- Coordinate documentation with clients, courts, barristers and other external stakeholders.
- Help coordinate medical appointments, surveillance activities and expert reports.
- Assist with conflict checks, matter openings and workflow tracking.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide support during busy periods.
About you:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, Practice Administrator or similar legal support professional.
- Litigation experience is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, professional services or legal environment.
- Familiarity with legal systems, billing processes or matter management platforms will be highly regarded.
- This opportunity is best suited to career Legal Secretaries and is not designed as a pathway into a legal practitioner role.
