Salary Range: Base salary starting at $116,981 – $129,492 p.a + super
Employment Type: Full-Time, 35 hrs per week ongoing role. A Talent Pool may be created from this process.
Location: Parramatta, McKell or Gosford location - flexible working conditions available across the three locations with a minimum of two days in the office

About the Opportunity
As an Aboriginal P&C Business Partner working alongside other P&C Business Partners, you will provide expert and inclusive advice, coaching, and mentoring employees and people leaders in addition to Aboriginal employees across the Department. You will support a range of workplace matters including conflict resolution, health and wellbeing, performance and grievance management, ensuring all approaches are managed effectively and within agreed timeframes. Additionally, when supporting Aboriginal employees, ensure approaches are grounded in cultural understanding and aligned with Aboriginal values and practices where Aboriginal people thrive.
This role plays a key part in delivering specialised people in case management with a focus on customer service to support all employees and people leaders. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience supporting Aboriginal employees in the workplace, with a strong understanding of the diverse issues they may encounter. This includes cultural sensitivities, protocols, and the impact these factors can have on workplace engagement and outcomes.

A typical day of work for you might include:

Providing informed HR advice, coaching, and mentoring to employees and people leaders in addition to supporting Aboriginal employees across our portfolio group on a range of workplace matters including conflict resolution, performance concerns, and grievances while ensuring issues are managed effectively and within agreed timeframes.

Working in close partnership with the P&C specialist teams - including our Professional Standards and Conduct and Industrial Relations and Safety & Risk and Occupational Health and Recovery teams - to support safe outcomes for Aboriginal and other employees, aligned with Aboriginal cultural values and DCS practices.

Developing and delivering informative and engaging training sessions to empower leaders.

Identifying continuous improvement opportunities, enhancing our service delivery to improve customer outcomes by assessing and updating methods, procedures, and processes.

Actively participate in projects across the team.

To be successful in this role you will:

Have an understanding of diverse workforce issues including Aboriginal people and sensitives around Aboriginal culture, protocols and how these may impact their outcome in the workplace.

Demonstrated experience in HR/ER/WHS case management and/ or conflict resolution relating to the Aboriginal Workforce.

Strong ethics and values that align to our customer service driven culture.

Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
