The Role
As Senior Manager, Operational Risk, you’ll provide Line two leadership across Pepper Money, overseeing the effectiveness of operational risk management and acting as a trusted risk partner to the business.
Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, the role focuses on incident and issue governance, root cause and thematic analysis, risk‑in‑change oversight, business partnership, and translating operational risk data into clear, meaningful insights for senior management and governance forums.
You’ll work closely with the Governance and Enablement and Risk Assurance teams within Operational Risk to deliver strong execution, clear accountability and effective outcomes across the Three Lines model.
You’ll also lead and develop a team of operational risk professionals, playing an important role in strengthening Pepper’s risk culture and capability.
What you’ll be responsible for:
About you
You’re a senior operational risk professional with strong experience in financial services, and you enjoy partnering with the business to improve risk outcomes while reinforcing accountability.
You bring sound judgement, strong analytical capability and the confidence to challenge constructively at senior levels to support effective decision‑making.
You’ll also bring:
- Extensive experience in operational risk, compliance, assurance or related roles within financial services
- Experience providing second‑line risk oversight, business partnering and senior‑level challenge
- Strong experience with incident and issue management, root cause analysis and remediation governance
- Experience supporting major projects or change initiatives from a risk perspective
- Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and developing risk professionals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, commerce, law or a related discipline
