About the role
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to patient care by implementing delegated clinical tasks, supporting therapy programs, and helping to ensure patients receive safe and timely interventions. This position offers a diverse and practical scope of work, including involvement in patient assessments, assisting with therapeutic activities, and supporting the preparation and delivery of treatment sessions. You will also play an important role in maintaining therapy equipment, ensuring resources are readily available to support clinical care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Assist with preparation for and conduction of patient care activities including home visits.
Provide feedback regarding the patients' performance to the occupational therapists.
Clean and maintain treatment, kitchen and storage areas.
Assist in the fabrication, application and maintenance of splints and other assistive devices as directed by the Occupational Therapists.
Draft, cut and sew a range of soft splints and compression garments.
