Job Description
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Department, the Course Coordinator (Community Services) provides academic leadership and oversight of assigned courses, ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and student outcomes.
Working closely with academic staff, industry stakeholders, and student support teams, you will drive curriculum quality, support academic excellence, monitor student success, and contribute to academic governance and continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring courses remain industry-relevant, compliant with higher education standards, and aligned with Acknowledge Education's commitment to delivering exceptional student experiences.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing academic leadership and support to teaching staff

Coordinating course delivery and maintaining academic quality standards

Leading curriculum review and continuous improvement activities
-
Monitoring student progression, retention, and success outcomes
-
Supporting academic governance, compliance, and quality assurance processes

Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance course quality and industry relevance
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
-
A postgraduate qualification in Community Work, Social Welfare, Human Services, Social Work, or a closely related discipline.

Qualifications that are equivalent to, or at least one AQF level higher than the course being coordinated.

Demonstrated understanding of higher education learning, teaching, and assessment practices.
-
A current Paid/Employee WWC card.
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years' full-time relevant industry experience within Community Services or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in higher education course coordination, academic leadership, or program management.
-
Experience supporting academic staff and overseeing course delivery, assessment, and quality assurance activities.
-
Sound knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) and TEQSA regulatory requirements.

Experience in curriculum development, course review, assessment design, moderation, and continuous improvement processes.

Strong analytical skills and experience using academic performance and student success data to inform decision-making.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
