Currambine Bar & Bistro is a busy local venue offering great food, drinks, entertainment and a relaxed atmosphere. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Staff Member to join our team on a casual basis.
About the Role
This is a casual position offering approximately 12–18 hours per week to start, with the opportunity for additional hours for the right person.
The successful applicant will have a strong background in bar service and be confident working independently in a busy hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional and efficient service to customers.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Take orders and process payments accurately.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of our drinks menu, specials and promotions.
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked and ready for service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Complete bar opening and closing duties.
- Assist with stock replenishment and stock control.
- Follow responsible service of alcohol (RSA) requirements and venue procedures.
- Work effectively with the floor, kitchen and management teams.
- Assist with functions, events and busy service periods.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and provide a positive customer experience.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 2 years' experience working behind a bar.
- Has a current RSA certificate.
- Is confident serving beer, wine and spirits.
- Has cocktail-making experience or a willingness to learn.
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Can work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
- Is reliable, punctual and well presented.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Has availability for evening and weekend shifts.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised bar.
