Your New Role and Responsibilities
As the Chief Architect, you will serve as the senior technical authority for one of Leidos Australia’s strategically important Federal Government accounts. You will be responsible for maintaining the architectural integrity of the environment, developing technology strategies and roadmaps, and providing technical leadership across operations, engineering, projects, innovation and research activities. Working closely with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure the delivery of sustainable, secure and future-focused technologies that support enterprise-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide architectural leadership and governance, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards, security requirements, customer policies and strategic objectives.
Lead architecture design, reviews and assurance activities across projects, proposals, ROMs, BOEs and technology investment decisions to ensure solutions are viable, supportable and commercially sustainable.
Identify technology risks, technical debt and end-of-life concerns, and collaborate with operational teams to develop effective remediation strategies.
Engage with customer stakeholders on future capabilities, strategic roadmaps and emerging technology opportunities, including Leidos-funded research and development initiatives.
Provide technical leadership and expertise across architecture, engineering and operations teams, supporting complex technical challenges and contributing to business development opportunities.
About You and What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or significant enterprise-scale architecture and engineering experience supporting environments of 5,000+ users.
Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, Technology Governance and Design Authority functions, including Architecture Framework certifications such as TOGAF or DODAF.
Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with senior leaders, executive stakeholders and customer representatives.
Strong technical expertise across large-scale infrastructure and platform technologies, including experience with at least two of the following: Red Hat OpenShift, Ansible, Terraform, VMware VCF and Aria, Cisco Datacentre Networking, Compute and Storage platforms, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Cohesity NetBackup or Commvault.
Experience working with security frameworks such as ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and NIST, coupled with strong architectural documentation, product evaluation, technical leadership and quality compliance capabilities. Experience with Hybrid Cloud, Sovereign Cloud, AIOps, AI infrastructure platforms or mainframe environments is highly regarded.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold at least a Baseline clearance and be able to gain a NV-1 level security clearance.
