FRAMES AND FINISHES
Frames and Finishes is a family run conservation picture framer specialising in textiles and embroideries. We are looking for an energetic person who is practical and fit, with an ability to think creatively and work through problems. They would need to be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. We would love for someone who is a fit for this role to join our family for the long term and grow with us. Experience in picture framing is preferable but not essential, however, they must have practical skills and experience with using woodworking tools.
We feel it is important for job satisfaction that each framing job is completed from start to finish by you. We don't work on a production line here. The following are all the steps involved in producing a beautiful framed piece of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cutting and joining frames
- Glass cutting
- Mat cutting
- Measuring art and preparing for production
- Assembly
- Stock control and materials handling
- Customer service
- Computer use
- Workshop housekeeping
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Must work to a very high standard with extremely high attention to detail
- A good eye for colour and design would be preferable
- Literacy and numeracy, as recording and taking accurate measurements are extremely important as well as understanding the individual job instructions
- Fit and healthy as there are physical aspects daily
- Tidy and organised
- Can work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to handle various power tools such as drills and saws etc
- Good at following instructions and a quick learner
- Must be able to follow safety protocols

Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
