The ideal candidate for this role is a compassionate, skilled, and community-focused Registered Nurse with a strong commitment to supporting the health, development, and wellbeing of children and their families.
Skills & Capabilities
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively and build trusting relationships with children, parents, carers, and diverse communities.
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills, particularly in child development, maternal health, and family dynamics.
- Ability to provide evidence-based health education, anticipatory guidance, and early intervention strategies to families.
- Well-developed cultural competence, with the ability to provide inclusive, respectful, and family-centred care (including Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities).
- Strong documentation and IT skills, with experience in electronic health records and community health systems.
- Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload across clinic, home, and community settings.
Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Relevant qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing (or enrolled in a relevant qualification and working towards completion).
- Demonstrated experience in child and family health, community nursing, paediatrics, or maternal health.
- Experience in developmental screening, family assessments, and early identification of risk factors impacting child wellbeing.
Experience in health promotion, group facilitation, and community engagement is highly desirable.
