About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing facilities operations, asset management, contractor performance, compliance maintenance and capital planning across the Bankstown Sports Group.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic planning with hands-on operational management. You will lead a dedicated facilities team while ensuring our venues remain safe, compliant, efficient and well-maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Facilities Management Department across seven venues and the Flinders Centre
- Ownership of all asset registers and associated capital replacement strategies
- Managing preventative, reactive and statutory maintenance programs across all sites
- Leading annual budget preparation, capital forecasting and cost-control initiatives
- Managing tender processes, contract negotiations and service agreements
- Ensuring contractor compliance and overseeing contractor management processes
- Driving service delivery standards and operational excellence across the portfolio
- Leading minor refurbishments, capital replacement projects and facilities upgrades
- Working closely with operational stakeholders to ensure facilities support business objectives
- Supporting ESG initiatives and sustainability projects across the Group
- Acting as the key escalation point for facilities-related issues and after-hours reactive maintenance
About You
You are an experienced Facilities leader who thrives in a complex, multi-site environment. You combine strong technical and commercial expertise with proven leadership capability and a passion for continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Facilities Management role
- Trade qualification, Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering or a related discipline is highly desirable
- Experience managing multiple sites within hospitality, retail, commercial property or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management, preventative maintenance and contractor management
- Demonstrated experience managing operational and capital budgets
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage service contracts and maintenance agreements
- Strong financial acumen with experience identifying and delivering cost-saving initiatives
- Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- Sound understanding of WHS requirements, contractor compliance and risk management practices
- Strong problem-solving, planning and organisational skills
- Current driver's licence
- RSA and RCG Competency Card, or willingness to obtain
