INTRODUCTION
Build and grow Metso’s global service business for high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) and dry grinding by capturing the service opportunities within our expanding installed base, winning business from third-party HPGR installations, and establishing lifecycle support for vertical roller mills.
As Vice President, HPGR & Dry Grinding Product Group , you will lead a newly established product group within the Grinding Services Business Line , part of Metso’s Services Business Area. Grinding Services brings dedicated focus to the full equipment lifecycle, from technical and commercial front-end support to service execution. Its purpose is to strengthen product ownership, improve customer support throughout the lifecycle, and grow the aftermarket business.
Your focus will be commercial growth. You will shape how the product group creates and converts opportunities, bring Services and Capital teams together, and give direction across market-area sales and technical teams. This is a hands-on global leadership role with the mandate to grow the business and build the organization and capabilities needed for its next stage.
Regular international travel is part of the role. You will work closely with Market Area and Capital teams across regions and, when needed, meet customers and visit customer sites. Travel frequency will vary based on active opportunities and business priorities.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO
You will be part of the Grinding Services leadership team and report directly to the SVP, Grinding Services. The HPGR & Dry Grinding Product Group is being established as a separate leadership area to give these technologies the dedicated commercial focus they require.
You will initially lead a small core team supported by shared product engineering resources. As the business develops, you will shape the team structure and build the capabilities needed to support growth, including dedicated product management and engineering resources for vertical roller mills when required.
You will work closely with Market Area sales teams, the Capital equipment HPGR and dry-grinding organization, technical service specialists, engineering teams, and customers. You will create direction and commercial momentum across this network, including among colleagues who may not report directly to you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In your first 12 months, you’ll:
Capture and secure service opportunities connected to Metso’s growing HPGR installed base.
Progress and convert existing service opportunities within the third-party HPGR installed base.
Establish a functioning service offering and support model for vertical roller mills.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Lead the commercial development of the global HPGR and dry-grinding service business.
Identify, create, pursue, and convert service opportunities instead of relying only on incoming customer requests.
Guide market-area sales teams in progressing opportunities across relevant customer regions.
Work with colleagues within the Grinding Segment to align Services and Capital around shared products, customers, and commercial opportunities.
Develop a commercially active organization with clear priorities and a strong opportunity-creation mindset.
Build the service offering and support capability required for vertical roller mills.
Ensure the product group can turn technical knowledge into executable service solutions covering installations, component change-outs, repairs, and the related service processes.
Engage with customers, sales teams, and technical specialists to progress service opportunities and position Metso as the preferred service partner.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Must-have requirements:
Commercial, product, service-business, or sales experience in mining equipment, minerals-processing equipment, cement equipment, or another industrial sector involving dry comminution technologies. Relevant technology backgrounds may include high-pressure grinding rolls, dry grinding, crushing, cement grinding, and vertical roller mills.
Sufficient technical and market understanding of dry comminution equipment and services to work credibly with customers, Market Area sales teams, and technical specialists.
A track record of growing an industrial equipment or services business through product strategy, customer engagement, commercial leadership, and opportunity development.
Experience using installed-base information, customer needs, and market insight to identify and develop new service, repair, upgrade, lifecycle, or aftermarket opportunities.
Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to balance growth, profitability, customer value, and long-term business potential when prioritizing opportunities and investments.
Experience working closely with regional or Market Area sales organizations to shape commercial priorities, create the conditions for successful customer engagement, and support the progression of strategic opportunities.
The ability to take an active product-group role in selected strategic opportunities by bringing together the required product, commercial, service, engineering, and technical expertise.
A customer-focused approach and the ability to translate customer and market needs into clear priorities for product, service, and lifecycle offering development.
The ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization, aligning product management, services, engineering, sales, and operations around shared commercial priorities.
Nice-to-have experience:
Direct experience with high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) and their service or aftermarket business.
Experience with vertical roller mills or cement-grinding technologies.
Knowledge of equipment installations, component change-outs, repairs, or productized service solutions.
Experience leading an industrial product group, service portfolio, market segment, or relevant sales organization.
Experience working across several international markets or regions.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Take leadership of a successful and fast-growing HPGR and Dry Grinding service business that has earned dedicated focus through its strong momentum and future potential. With an expanding installed base and significant opportunities across both Metso and third-party equipment fleets, the role offers a clear mandate to accelerate growth, strengthen lifecycle support, and shape the next stage of the business.
This is an opportunity to contribute to both the future of Metso’s service business and the mining industry’s sustainability goals. High-pressure grinding rolls can reduce the energy required in comminution compared with conventional grinding technologies. Strengthening their long-term performance and serviceability can help customers process minerals more efficiently and gain more value from the energy and resources used in their operations.
The impact extends beyond commercial growth. By expanding lifecycle services for Metso’s installed base, developing service opportunities within third-party HPGR fleets, and establishing support for vertical roller mills, you can help customers improve equipment performance and extend asset life.
There is also real scope to shape how the business develops. You will bring Services and Capital teams together, apply customer and market insight to offering development, strengthen support for Market Area sales teams, and build the organization and capabilities needed for continued growth. The role combines hands-on business building, global commercial responsibility, and work that supports more energy-efficient minerals processing.
