The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and energetic
Senior Management Accountant to join growing team. Going beyond traditional accounting, you'll act as a trusted business partner to SEE Fleet Operations, delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis and commercial insights that drive performance outcomes across the business. You'll play a key role in influencing stakeholders to improve profitability, asset utilisation and cost control, ensuring accurate and timely financial information underpins every decision.
Responsibilities-
Lead month-end processes, including preparation and review of P&L statements, balance sheet reconciliations and KPI/performance reporting, and deliver monthly reporting packs for senior leadership and the leadership team

Partner with Operations and Division leadership to analyse fleet utilisation, cost recovery and profitability, and identify performance risks and opportunities

Lead equipment reviews and provide actionable insights on equipment performance, workshop costs, external hire and lease arrangements, and capital vs operating cost decisions

Lead budgeting and forecasting for SEE Fleet, including fleet utilisation, revenue assumptions and capital expenditure, and maintain rolling forecasts and scenario modelling

Oversee financial control of SEE Fleet-related activities, including capital WIP tracking, component capitalisation and depreciation, inventory movements and lease accounting

Build strong working relationships with Operations, project stakeholders and the finance team, leading regular meetings to review fleet performance and improve data integrity

Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, tax regulations and internal policies, and support external audits and internal reviews

Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, ERP systems and data quality, including support for system implementations

Provide coaching, mentoring and support to finance and operational staff, promoting a high-performance, collaborative team culture
Essential Skills-
A proactive and energetic approach, with proven management skills, practices and planning ability

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence operational staff across the business

High attention to detail, with the ability to master the intricacies of a unique, high-value contract to ensure all revenue is captured accurately and nothing is missed

Experience within the civil contracting industry (or similar), providing a practical understanding of operational and commercial dynamics
-
Computer literacy, particularly experience working with MS Office and ERP systems
-
Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar
-
CPA or CA qualification (preferred)
