The opportunity & how you will make an impact.
We are looking for senior designers who can bring exceptional skills and key areas of interest from concept design, iteration and critical thinking, to imaginative, pragmatic and innovate approaches to detailed design and documentation; and on-the-ground experience in delivering and managing delivery and implementation of projects You'll provide high-quality design, technical, and Project management skills, and value collaboration, knowledge sharing and engagement with design dialogue with the local and national design team.
We have a broad range of projects spanning multiple sectors, offering opportunities to think strategically, design in complex environments, manage construction and be client-facing.
This is a role for someone with strong design acumen, a practical approach, and a genuine passion for creating places that make a lasting impact.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading design conversations, knowledge sharing and other aspects of the landscape studio
- Providing thought leadership of a range of topics
- Supporting local and national Design teams in delivering a range of projects scales, across a variety of sectors, including urban renewal precincts, sports precincts, open space, greenfield development, infrastructure, industrial and commercial projects.
- Contributing to all stages of the design process from site analysis, master planning and concept design through to documentation, tendering and construction administration.
- Applying sound knowledge of landscape architecture, construction processes, and relevant Australian Standards to produce high-quality design outcomes.
- Collaborating, mentoring and working as part of a friendly and engaged team of professionals
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and liaising with clients, consultants and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Assisting with fee proposals, tracking project budgets, and providing regular updates to senior team members.
- Promoting the firm's services and supporting business development initiatives.
- Inputting into business development activities and opportunities
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or related fields
- Minimum 5 - 8 years relevant experience, ideally gained in a private practice or with local council or government.
- Brings an understanding of design principles and methods and the ability to apply them in the urban environment.
- Advanced and efficient skills in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and/or other 3D modelling software
- Advanced and efficient skills in relevant components of the Adobe Suite
- Successfully manages client priorities and expectations;
- Demonstrates adaptability when dealing with problems and changes to priorities;
- Communicates graphically at an advanced level using both digital and hand drawn formats to convey design ideas and concepts or documentation
- High quality written and verbal skills, including presentation and facilitation of meetings and workshops, and landscape design reports
- Ability to work independently and autonomously, whist having awareness to seek support and knowledge in a timely manner
- High quality communication skills with a range of disciplines, more junior and senior colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively in a team environment.
