About the Role
Reporting to the CISO, you will lead a team of security engineers responsible for the design, implementation and management of security controls across identity, cloud, network, endpoint and email security. You will work closely with Technology and Business leaders to embed security into platforms and processes while driving key security initiatives and capability uplift.

Key Accountabilities
Team Leadership and Strategy
- Lead and develop a high-performing Security Engineering team.
- Define and deliver the Security Engineering roadmap aligned to business objectives and risk appetite.
- Manage security technology vendors and strategic partnerships.
- Partner with Infrastructure, DevOps, Risk, Compliance and Technology leaders across the business.
- Contribute to security policies, standards and governance practices.
Security Tool Engineering
- Oversee the implementation and management of security technologies across network, cloud, endpoint, email and identity domains.
- Drive security standards, hardening initiatives and network security governance.
- Evaluate and introduce new security technologies and capabilities.
- Lead cloud security and DevSecOps security controls.
- Provide engineering leadership during cyber security incidents and recovery activities.
Identity, User Access and Privileged Access Management
- Own and enhance Avant's Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) capabilities.
- Optimise Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) processes and access governance.
- Manage PAM, SSO and Federated Identity platforms.
- Ensure identity controls meet regulatory, audit and compliance requirements.
Skills and experience required:
- You are an experienced cyber security leader with a strong technical background and a passion for building high-performing teams.
- Proven experience in cyber security, including leadership of technical teams.
- Strong expertise across cloud, network, identity and security engineering domains.
- Experience with IGA, PAM, SSO, network security and vulnerability management.
- Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, insurance or healthcare.
- Knowledge of frameworks including APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001 and Essential Eight.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GIAC (highly regarded).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
