About the role
We are seeking an Event Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic Operations team.
In this role, you will manage the booking, assessment, and approval processes for events held in Melbourne’s public open spaces. Working closely with event organisers and stakeholders, you will review and analyse event documentation, ensuring permit information is accurately captured and processed through digital systems. You will help ensure events are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with Council policies, procedures, and risk management requirements.
As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the processes that support Melbourne’s vibrant events calendar while providing high-quality customer service and advice to a diverse range of stakeholders. You will work independently with minimal supervision, while proactively supporting team initiatives. This role requires balancing individual accountability with teamwork to ensure all approvals and event requirements are met.

- Coordinate event permit applications, assessments and approvals for an allocated portfolio of events and activations
- Provide advice and guidance to event organisers and stakeholders on event operations, logistics and compliance requirements
- Manage event, permit and financial information within City of Melbourne systems and processes
- Support event evaluations, stakeholder engagement activities and on-site event compliance as required
