Role Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Delegated Design Authority (Training) to join our team within Hunter Class business unit based in Osborne, SA or in Bourke St. Melbourne.
Using your extensive background in Training Design and Development in a Defence environment, you will review and authorise the Hunter Class Frigate Crew Training products to ensure the Training Design and Development design is safe, legal, and meets the contracted requirements (in accordance with the HCF Engineering Management Plan) as delegated and directed by the Support System Design Authority.
You will have a comprehensive understanding of the SADL (or equivalent) and how it influences the outcomes of the Training Design and Development solution.
Core Duties:
- Ensure Engineering decisions are consistent with Company policy and FF ENG 3736 Engineering Framework in the development of Training Design and Development design.
- Ensure support system engineering processes and practices comply with BAE SYSTEMS Engineering Lifecycle
- Ensuring appropriate processes are established and executed by the project to identify and manage technical risks associated with the system development and system integration programs
- Assure the safety and integrity of the company’s products, principally through the review of systems engineering outputs and independent review of system designs.
- Maintain the Support System design and its documentation in accordance with the applicable configuration management, change management and traceability processes
- Provide recommendations to inform decisions within the scope of Training Design and Development where potentially those decisions affect the design of the Platform or Combat System Training delivery comply with the SADL requirements.
- Mentor Support System Delivery teams where technical knowledge requires further development to aid both personal and program growth and awareness.
About You
- Degree in Education discipline (essential)
- Extensive training background (essential)
- Defence background in Training Delivery is essential
- Comprehensive understanding of SADL
- Experience working in structured Engineering Governance role
- Strong communication skills and able to build highly effective working relationships.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
