The opportunity
We are seeking suitably experienced Operator Maintainers to join our Operations teams based at the Geraldton Karara Export Terminal. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring all operational requirements are met to site standards of efficiency, quality and safety.
This role operates on a Sportsman style 2 days, 2 nights on 5 days off / 2 days, 3 nights on 4 days off / 3 days, 2 nights on 5 days off roster.
To be successful in the role, the following is essential:
- WA 'C' class Drivers Licence
- High Risk Work Licence
- Dogging (DG)
- Basic Rigging (RB),
- Elevated Work Platform (WP)
- Confined Space Ticket
- Working at heights Ticket
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of port operations and process plant equipment
- Proven experience with generic fixed plant policies and procedures
- Strong understanding of scheduled maintenance systems and work order process
- Demonstrated ability to undertake problem solving investigations and reviews with ability to plan work in line with predicted operational requirements
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and computer programs
- Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
- National Police clearance is required to obtain MSIC
To be eligible to apply for this role you must be residing in the Geraldton area or be prepared to relocate at own cost.
Key Duties:
- Perform assigned work tasks for scheduled and unscheduled work

- Monitor, measure, communicate and report issues or business risks identified in the workplace
- Share technical knowledge and expertise within teams
- Develop and improve job procedures for various maintenance tasks

- Engage in development activities to extend the range of competency
- Attend scheduled training as part of development plan
- Lead by example in all matters of safety behaviour
- Participate in development, coaching and mentoring of apprentices, contractors and other members of the work team

About Karara Export Terminal
Enabling movement to the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, Karara owns and operates an 80 km railway linking Tilley Junction to the mine site in the Shire of Perenjori. The terminal is capable of processing up to 16 million tonnes of export products annually from a dedicated berth, with supporting rail and train unloading infrastructure.
