The Role
Scham Playload is growing! As such, we a relooking for an experienced, and local Hunter Valley Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join our team in our recently opened Muswellbrook facility.
This is a new and exciting position for Schlam as you will not only be supporting our local workshop and East Coast Team but also supporting with the start-up of our Americas business. Core responsibilities of this role include;
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company procedures.
- Investigate incidents, develop corrective actions, and conduct risk assessments.
- Advise on HSE policies, provide safety training, and promote preventative measures.
- Audit contractors for HSE compliance.
- Promote safety culture, manage environmental compliance, and support mental health and fatigue management.
- Oversee workplace injuries and assist with Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Implement ISO standards and track safety performance.
- Support travel risk management
- Assist with MSHA/OSHA admin requirements.
About You
Naturally, you will be a strong team player with sound communication skills who can influence Schlam’s safety behaviours across all levels of seniority and culture. In addition, you will require the below to be considered.
- Tertiary Qualification in Health and Safety or related field.
- Previous experience working in a similar role and/ or environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in HSE management systems and practices.
- Proactive approach to identifying risks and managing safety concerns.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with various departments.
- Able to work autonomously and collaborate with a remote safety team.
