Join Western Sydney Local Health District's Drug Health Service, providing security support across Fleet Street, Parramatta, Blacktown Drug Health and Mount Druitt Drug Health. Working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment for staff, patients, visitors and contractors. What you'll be doing
As a Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment by responding to incidents, supporting patients, staff and visitors, and protecting organisational assets. You will work independently as the sole Security Officer on site, providing frontline security support to clinicians, with additional security assistance available when required. Your professionalism, communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure will be essential in delivering high-quality security services across Drug Health facilities.
Respond to security incidents, Code Black emergencies and potential safety risks promptly and professionally.
Monitor CCTV, duress alarms, access control systems and other security technologies.
Conduct risk assessments, complete accurate incident reporting and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Provide exceptional customer service while using empathy and effective de-escalation techniques in challenging situations.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external emergency services to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
Participate in a rotating 7-day roster between 6:30am and 8:00pm, ensuring consistent security coverage across Drug Health services.

Essential Criteria
License: Class 1A Licence as issued under the Security Industry Act 1997
Qualification: Certificate II in Security Operations, current First Aid Certificate
Selection Criteria
Security experience in a large complex client-focused organisation & NSW Driver Licence (full or provisional class C).
Proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging and aggressive situations such as distressed persons and mental illness
Proven ability to display empathy towards vulnerable clients, while maintaining integrity and resilience in circumstances which may be multidimensional and sensitive
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, take direction and ability to work under minimal supervision and complete all patrols and any other security work during the shift
Excellent written communication skills particularly in the area of report writing, maintaining shift logs and entering information into databases
Demonstrated experience with a sound understanding of alarm systems, access control system, CCTV and Fire Indication panels
Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn current and emerging security and IT systems
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders including ability to work co-operatively as a member of a team
