Position Overview
The Technical Support Specialist will provide technical assistance and IT support to employees and clients, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and business systems. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong customer service abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems efficiently and effectively.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Support Microsoft Windows environments, business applications, and cloud-based services.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT personnel or external vendors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and technical documentation.
- Assist with IT infrastructure upgrades, software deployments, and system implementations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and technical guidance to end users.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical support, help desk, or IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and desktop support.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or construction industry environments.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, and cloud-based technologies.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security solutions.
