About the Role
Special Care Australia is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Assistant Support Workers (ASWs) for urgent casual positions across our Chirnside Park (Country Club) and Ferntree Gully locations.
We are looking for reliable support workers who are passionate about supporting people in disability support and aged care settings and are available to commence within the next 2 weeks. As an Assistant Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants and residents while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Disability Support and/or Aged Care
- Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or relevant qualification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Infection Control Certificate
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transport preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible casual shifts
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Support meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Assist with medication administration
- Monitor participant wellbeing and report any changes
- Support participants with therapeutic, rehabilitation, and independence-building programs
- Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting
- Support community participation and daily activities where required
