About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The Allied Health Assistant in Dietetics supports the clinical Dietitian to implement patient nutrition care plans and provide optimal nutrition care for all patients; this includes nutrition risk screening, referral of ‘at risk’ patients and provision of nutrition interventions including simple nutrition education/advice. Allied Health Assistants in Dietetics act as a liaison between the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, other health professionals and food services.

Ideal Candidate
- Equivalent work experience in an allied health or health related setting and/or successful completion of Certificate III or Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of CBORD Diet Office program or similar menu computer systems, and their role in patient nutrition care provision.
- Knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diets and understanding of food habits and cultural customs.
Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities, including ability to work within scope of practice, as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.
