Salary: $78,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation
About the Role
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and overseeing electrical systems and installations associated with commercial and industrial projects. The role involves ensuring electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Australian standards while supporting project delivery and ongoing business operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems, equipment, and installations for commercial and industrial projects
- Preparing electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
- Conducting feasibility studies, technical assessments, and electrical load calculations
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance, reliability, and efficiency of electrical systems and recommending improvements where required
- Managing and coordinating electrical engineering projects from planning through to commissioning and completion
- Providing technical support and guidance to project managers, technicians, contractors, and clients
- Conducting inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
- Ensuring all electrical installations comply with Australian Standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and relevant regulations
- Investigating electrical faults and system failures and implementing corrective actions
- Reviewing engineering designs, technical reports, and project documentation to ensure quality and compliance
- Assisting with energy efficiency initiatives and recommending innovative electrical solutions to improve operational performance
- Preparing technical reports, maintenance records, project documentation, and engineering recommendations
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 2-3 year full-time relevant work experience
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, control systems, and relevant Australian Standards
- Experience in commercial or industrial electrical projects will be highly regarded
- Strong communication, organisational, and project coordination skills
