Education Services International is looking for local First Nations people to join our Balranald Ranger team.
No previous Ranger experience or qualifications are required. These roles may suit people looking for their first job or who have been out of the workforce who are reliable, willing to learn and enjoy working outdoors.
What you will do
- Care for Country, cultural sites, land and waterways
- Work with Elders, community members and the Ranger team
- Help with cultural and environmental activities
- Use phones, tablets, GPS and cameras to record information
- Attend training and follow workplace safety requirements
You must
- Identify as a First Nations person
- Live in Balranald or the surrounding local area
- Hold a current driver licence
- Hold a current NSW Working with Children Check
- Be willing to complete a National Police Check
- Be reliable and fit to work outdoors in cold/hot conditions
Flexible working arrangements between 15 and 38 hours per week are available.

Identified positions
These positions are funded through the Australian Government’s Indigenous Rangers Program and are identified First Nations positions. The program supports First Nations people to manage and protect Country while building local employment. Some positions are targeted to First Nations women in line with the program’s focus on increasing women’s participation in ranger employment. ESI’s Balranald Rangers are listed as a funded Indigenous Rangers Program group.
Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
